As its name suggests, this is a handicap over the extended mile on the Flat and the big race on the Tuesday. Although open to horses aged three and up, it is often won by an older runner.

BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle
This is a Listed staying handicap hurdle currently run on the Saturday over an extended two-and-three-quarter miles. Six-year-olds boast the best recent record, so Galway tips should consider those from that age bracket.
Willie Mullins has five wins in this since 2015 including with a number of mares. The Wallpark tasted success in 2024 here for his great rival Gordon Elliott, receiving £56,435 for victory and leading Irish owner JP McManus purchased the horse in the autumn.
Connacht Hotel Handicap
A Qualified Riders only staying handicap on the Flat over an extended two miles on the opening day of the Festival. Competing horses must have an official rating of 100 or lower to be eligible to run. This is one of the few examples of Galway Races today tips focusing on amateur and apprentice jockeys.
Despite those in the saddle not being full professionals, Mullins has five recent wins in this long-distance event, but not always with the one the market expects. Sirius, for instance, pulled off a 50/1 surprise here in 2024, netting £56,435 in prize money.
Guinness Handicap
The big mile-and-a-half handicap on the Flat on the Friday. Open to three-year-olds and up, Galway horse racing tips must look at older runners once again. Mullins has multiple wins in recent years here too.
